Quotes on Friendship

What are some good poems or quotes about friendship?

I want some really good intelligent ones...all I seem to be able to find is really sappy stuff that would make me feel like a 5 year old using it... any suggestions for stuff that's REAL and heartfelt without being corny?

  3. Not knowing where you are from makes things a little hard, but Australians think of friendship / mateship highly. So highly as to have the idea incorporated into our constitution. So here are some Australian poems & verse by a very famous aussie poet that may help you: By Henry Lawson there is, "The Glass on the Bar", "That There Dog o' Mine" & "The Fire at Ross's Farm". http://australianpoems.tripod.com/banjopatersonandhenrylawsonpage.html
  4. I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same things too, So we're really not that different, me and you. This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life. Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you're just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky his is to have you.... The one who turns to his friends and says, 'that's her.
